Charitable Overview
With all the growth and new opportunities, it’s important to remember exactly why we put on this event: to give something back to our community. And, in the case of the Valero Texas Open, we’ve been able to give back quite a bit.
In fact, the Valero Texas Open and Valero Texas Open Benefit for Children have given more than $76M to charity since it began. Our commitment to giving back to the community is what drives us to make each year’s tournament so successful. Because the truth is that beyond the tournament play, beyond the fun and excitement of the event, we know that the real winners are the charities we’re proudly able to help each year.
Of course, the impact of the tournament transcends dollar amounts and donations. Each year, the event also creates tremendous awareness and goodwill towards the charities we support. When we talk about champions, perhaps the most important truth is that by championing the power of giving back, we can act as a catalyst for giving that has repercussions beyond the tournament. To be able to do this may just be our greatest victory of all.
Through Birdies for Charity and Chip In for Schools, the Valero Texas Open is able to allow each of you to give back as well.
